The technology company, Apple, mentioned several new features for its messaging app, in its official patent application with the title “Devices, Methods, and Graphical User Interfaces for Messaging.” Apple iMessage edit feature is really something to look forward to for any Apple user.

Though there are a bunch of new features, the most unique and handy one is probably the ability to edit a message after the user sends it. This will be useful for all users to avoid awkward moments after sending incorrect messages with typos or even wrong message to a person. As per the patent application, Apple has analysed the problems and limitations of the current messaging applications. One of the instances mentioned includes the limited ability to acknowledge messages easily and also editing previously sent messages, among others. There are other limitations also mentioned such as to integrate a camera, integrate search and sharing, integrate interactive applications, integrate stickers and others.

Apple iMessage is in a position to compete with the most popular instant messaging applications such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, and others. That’s not the only space the messaging application will compete, even the video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Google Hangouts will have stiff competition from iMessage.  What makes iMessage special is it’s all in one feature, which is seamless in Apple devices.
